  • Whether it’s your first time exercising or your five-hundredth, our instructors are experts at providing modifications for all levels (especially beginners!) so you can move at a pace that feels totally safe & sustainable for your body and ability.

    The springs on our Strengthformers can be adjusted to provide the perfect amount of resistance for your strength level & we have 2.5kg dumbbells available if that’s what you feel comfortable using at the moment. Of course, you can always take any exercise bodyweight if you’re not feeling ready to add any extra load!

    Just remember, strength training meets you exactly where you’re at right now. Come as you are - you’ll be fully supported & accepted into the Montel family.

  • We pride ourselves on being a "egos-at-the-door" studio, where you’ll find a supportive group of women who are much more interested in cheering you on than checking out what you’re wearing.

    Uplifting & encouraging each other to become our strongest, healthiest selves is our core value at Montel.

    This is a comparison and judgement-free zone, and the community is here to inspire and motivate you in every session.

  • Yes, we’d love you to!
    Our cycles are designed for you to join at any point and not feel “behind”. We can personally guide you on what level to start (BASE, PROGRESSION OR ADVANCED) so you can tailor every class to your level.

    During your 7 day trial, you’ll receive a complimentary 1:1 strength assessment so we can fully support you in your training journey with us from day 1.

  • All our memberships have no minimum term, except for the “unlimited membership” which has a 24 week minimum term.

    For the other memberships, you can cancel at any time with 30 days notice.

  • No. Strengthformer™️ is our signature, science-based resistance training method, programmed for muscle growth (hypertrophy) & strength.

    We love Pilates, and certainly enjoy sprinkling in elements of Pilates that make exercise feel so dang good (think breathwork, mobility, focus on control & technique, a friendly female environment). But ultimately, we exist to do what traditional Pilates never promised to do for your body.

    We build muscle on your body, for both aesthetics & longevity.

    Pilates was never inteneded to be a strength training method. Strengthformer™️ is. It’s a gentler, female-focused way of building lean muscle.

  • Yes. Our coaches are trained in modifications and adjustments. We’ll tailor your plan around injuries, pregnancy, or postpartum needs, and liaise with your clinician if helpful.

  • No. This is one of the biggest myths in the fitness industry. You don’t pick up a dumbbell and suddenly turn into the Hulk. In reality, even men who train daily find it incredibly hard to “bulk up.” What you will build here is lean muscle, better posture, and more energy. We can’t wait to break this myth down for you during your initial 1:1 Strength Assessment, please ask us to explain more about the process of building muscle (and how hard it is to get “bulky”).

  • Yes! :) At Studio Montel, we believe that training and nutrition go hand in hand. Our Studio Montel dietitian will offer you a complimentary call when you sign up, so you can talk through your goals and get personalised guidance. She has also created a library of educational resources designed specifically for our members, which you’ll be emailed during your trial.
